The first Honorary Consul to Lebanon was appointed in 1948.

H.E. Mr. Habis was appointed Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Singapore in Lebanon in 1974.

H.E. Mr. Habis was appointed Dean of the Honorary Consular Corps in 1986.

The present name of the Consular Corps in Lebanon was founded in 1986 jointly by the Late Permanent Secretary H.E.Ambassador Fouad Turk and H.E. Mr. Joseph Habis during the Mandate of the President Amine Gemayel, and is now included of Honorary Consuls representing 105 overseas countries.

A large number of Consuls are prominent Lebanese personalities from the different working sectors (Businessmen, Bankers, engineers, lawyers, doctors, traders.), and from all religious sects, representing overseas countries important to Lebanon.

The purpose of this site is to provide information about the overseas countries that the Consular Corps members represent. It also helps encourage and promote the exchange of political, economic, touristic, social, and educational information, and strengthens the political relationships between Lebanon and Honorary Corps member countries.
